About Dr. Jiao
Bio: Dr. Hongguan Jiao (Joe) PhD, LAc
Dr. Jiao Hongguan is an Associate Professor and a distinguished practitioner and researcher in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He earned his Ph.D. through joint training from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences.

With a clinical focus on the integrated application of internal and external TCM therapies, Dr. Jiao possesses significant expertise in managing numerous challenging conditions. His specialties include musculoskeletal disorders (such as stiff neck, cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation, knee osteoarthritis, and tennis elbow), neurological and internal issues (including dizziness, headache, insomnia, tinnitus, hypertension, diabetes, Parkinson's disease, and post-stroke sequelae), as well as common ailments like acne, rhinitis, cough, dysmenorrhea, and infertility.

Dr. Jiao is nationally recognized as a member of the "First Cohort of Outward-Oriented Excellent TCM Backbone Talents" by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is part of the "TCM International Exchange Talent Pool."

He holds significant leadership roles in several prominent academic organizations, serving as Executive Council Member of the Artificial Intelligence Branch of the China Information Association for Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Digitalization Professional Committee of the same association, and the Formula and Dosage Research Branch of the Chinese Ethnic Medicine Association.

A pivotal contributor to TCM standardization on the global stage, Dr. Jiao is a registered expert for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in both the Health Informatics Committee (TC 215) and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Committee (TC 249). He is also a licensed TCM practitioner in the United States.

His scholarly output includes over 40 research publications. He has led or participated in more than 20 provincial and national-level research projects and has played a key role in developing over 10 international standards and 10 national/industry standards.
